Before the Big Day is a boutique wedding inspiration blog for stylish brides and grooms. Updated daily, and brimming with ideas, it's the go-to website for creative couples who are keen to make their big day stand out from the crowd.

Launched in September 2009, we're the favourite wedding blog of thousands of brides and grooms! So if you're a wedding business, and you sponsor or advertise with Before the Big Day, you can be sure you're targeting the right people.

One of the most popular UK wedding blogs, Before the Big Day rates very highly on Google searches. We're usually top of the list when you search 'wedding blog UK'.

This is a great time to get involved with Before the Big Day.

Our readership has more than tripled since January this year, and we're now posting at least once, sometimes twice a day.

We've updated our appearance, with a brand-new fresh look, designed to keep readers on the blog for longer, and to make the most of our massive real wedding archives.

I've started my regular appearances at wedding fairs, where I host hugely popular DIY Bride sessions, which draw large numbers of brides to the blog. Over 2000 new regular brides joined Before the Big Day's readership after my appearance at The In Wedding Show.

We've recently won Editor's Choice at the prestigious Wedding Blog Awards at The Ritz. We were also nominated for two other awards! Plus we've been nominated one of the UK's best blogs by Sky Living and Channel 4, and that's on top of all the other industry recommendations.

Readership is set to rocket, and with brides already booking for next summer's weddings, this is a great time to raise your profile.  Get in touch to find out more!

Kelly, Lola Rose Photography - "Advertising & having real weddings featured on Before the Big Day wedding blog has been hugely beneficial to the development & growth of my business. Georgia is not only a super-friendly lady, but she always responds to any submissions & questions quickly, and is very supportive of promoting my business through her blog. Being featured on Before the Big Day has lead to strong enquiries from couples who are well matched to me, and also lots of clicks through to my website too!"

Kerry Bracken, Lavender & Rose Weddings: "Not only has Before The Big Day brought me several business leads, appearing on such a fantastic blog has validated the quality of my services for clients who have not even initially found me via the blog. As a wedding vendor, being featured on quality wedding blogs like Before the Big Day is extremely valuable not just for the generation of business leads but also for overall brand recognition. A huge thanks to Georgia at Before The Big Day for being such a loyal ambassador and overall good egg!!!

Kayleigh Pope Photography: "I want to say a BIG thank you to Georgia at Before the Big Day for showcasing my work which in turn gained me work! I live in Coventry and have booked a fabulous wedding in London thanks to having my work featured Before the Big Day. The couple who have booked me, saw one of my previous weddings on the blog and contacted me through the details on the blog post. I love the fact, that I am able to branch out to other couples across the UK and get my work seen!"

Alex from My Love Story: "In the wedding world you seem to get people who are either really cold and never get back to you, or people who are really lovely, helpful and encouraging. Georgia is definitely the latter! She's very keen on promoting good quality work, and giving a platform for people to shine. She was key in helping me develop my business, by featuring my work, which in turn led to me getting new clients."

Patrick from Butler-Madden Weddings: "Before the Big Day is a fantastic blog to be featured and have a banner. I often meet up with brides after they have seen my work on the blog, and they come armed with mood boards and inspiration mostly drawn from Georgia's pages. They love it, not only for the photography, but for all the ideas and details that are so important in modern weddings. Thoroughly recommended!"

Juliette from Brown Paper Designs: "Last year you put one of our invitations on your lovely blog. From that we got so many inquiries, and subsequently also designed a bespoke set of wedding stationery for one of your readers! So thank you!"

Kym from Lash Lab: "Since I was featured on Before the Big Day, I’ve had lots of brides getting in touch to have their lashes done for their wedding day. The blog is a great source of information for brides to be and has given my business valuable exposure to the wedding community. If you're in the wedding business, Before the Big Day is the blog for you!"

Jade: "I recently stumbled across your blog and completely fell in love with it! I am due to get married next June and the theme for my Wedding is 'Key to my Heart'. I have spent most of yesterday afternoon (at work) reading your blog and looking at the other stunning weddings, gaining inspiration as I go."

Izabella: "First of all - loving your blog! I'm not a very girly lass, and before my wedding I sort of looked at about 2 magazines - but followed your blog closely - inspirational, classy stuff!"

About Me

Hello! I'm Georgia, and I'm a journalist and a massive wedding obsessive. There's something about the way they combine design and romance, that has got me hooked.

I've been running Before the Big Day wedding blog for over three years now, and there's nothing I like more than hunting for wedding inspiration and wedding ideas, and sharing them with you. The whole experience of starting Before the Big Day was like getting caught on a runaway roller-coaster of wedding popularity! The blog has grown exponentially, with thousands of new brides finding us each month.

Our blog family has recently expanded to include Before the Baby - a fantastic baby inspiration blog. Packed with hundreds of ideas for cute children's products & parenting hints & tips, it's the perfect blog for the next stage in your life!

Before the Big Day has also been recognised by the wedding industry. We won Editor's Pick at the prestigious Wedding Blog Awards 2013, and also notched up two other nominations, including Best Real Weddings Blog and Best London Blog.

Sky Living and Channel 4 Beauty voted Before the Big Day one of the Best Wedding Blogs, and we've been featured in all the top wedding publications in the UK, including most recently Wedding Magazine.

You & Your Wedding voted us one of their Top 15 Favourite Wedding Blogs and Wedding Magazine voted us Blog of the Week. Brides magazine's Editor, Astrid Joss, wrote on her blog, how much she loves Before the Big Day.

I've also written articles for Best Scottish Weddings Magazine and Staffordshire Life, and our wedding has appeared in Living France MagazineDestination Wedding Magazine and Photo Professional Magazine.

A recent highlight was my appearance on the Newshour programme on the BBC's World Service. I got into a heated debate about whether flashmob proposals were a good way to get engaged. What do you think?

Last April I appeared as the Resident Wedding Blogger for The In-Wedding Show, and I'm booked for next year's show as well.

My job was to blog all the fabulous happenings at the show, and I also hosted six fabulous wedding inspiration sessions, where I taught over 200 brides how to DIY their wedding. I was only supposed to do four sessions, but demand for pom-pom tutorials was crazily high!

I'll also be a guest at the The French Wedding Show on 9th November, where I'll be helping brides and grooms plan their wedding abroad.

On a more personal note, I recently celebrated my own two weddings! We had a legal one in London on 5th May, and another official wedding in France, on 28th May. The Boy and I got engaged 18 months before our wedding days, so I had plenty of time to puzzle over every detail. I tried to DIY as much as I could, with varying degrees of success. See for yourself here.

Sponsorship

I love writing Before the Big Day, and I'm very lucky that I enjoy my job, but even bloggers need to eat! So I'm sure my readers understand that in order to provide you with all these lovely Real Weddings and wedding ideas, I accept sponsorship from likeminded businesses. This sponsorship takes five forms:

1. Button Adverts - you can see these running along the right hand side of the blog. Often they are bought by wedding photographers - all of whom are very talented, and come highly recommended.

2. Sponsored Features - these are entitled Introducing....and then the business name. Again, I wouldn't recommend a company to you, that I wouldn't wholeheartedly recommend to my friends.

3. Affiliate Links via Skimlinks & Amazon - this is an automatic service that adds links to certain words in my features. If you click on them, and then buy something, then I get a small percentage of that sale. I don't get any money for just a click.

4. Linkshare - some of the larger button adverts you see on the blog are created via Linkshare. Again, if you click on them, I get a small percentage of that sale.

5. Sponsored Links - sometimes an advertiser will come directly to me, and ask me to add their link to certain words in my features. I only accept relevant links, and they never affect my content.

I write all the content for Before the Big Day, and unlike some blogs, I don't accept articles written by anyone else {ever! how ever nicely you ask!}. Please support the businesses that support Before the Big Day, so that I can keep on searching out wedding fabulousness on your behalf!

If you're a business interested in sponsoring Before the Big Day, then please do get in touch.

And if you're a future bride, then I'd love to hear from you as well! There's nothing I like more than a real life bride submitting her own wedding, and if you've got any questions, then shoot me an email.

Thank you for your visit to Before the Big Day. Please do leave comments at the end of each post, and tell all your friends about Before the Big Day. Come back soon, and in the meantime, find me on TwitterFacebook and Pinterest xx

I reckon nearly every bride and groom wants to drop a few pounds before their big day, and Alice is going to help us on our way to body-beautiful. She'll be posting diet tips, fat-free recipes, fabulous toning exercises, and inspirational features that will make getting wedding-fit easier. Savannah Britten-Long is a hugely talented gemologist with massive expertise in antique jewellery. She's worked for Sotheby's, Christies, and studied at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America in New York. She really knows her onions {or diamonds}! A couple of years ago she started her own company called BL&T Fine Jewellery, and now she works hard at selling and sourcing jewellery for private clients. She's designed three of my friends' engagement rings, and promises that jewellery doesn't have to be expensive - woohoo!  So if you're on the search for an engagement ring or wedding jewellery, you can contact Savannah, or just enjoy all her wedding jewellery advice for free right here.
